Frequently asked questions
Can I pay with cash?
If you choose not to submit to medical aid, cash and card are welcomed payment methods at the practice.
Do I have to stick with one location, or am I able to change between the different practices?
Melissa spends different times at each practices and so if it suits you to change between practices there is absolutely no problem! All admin and patient files are cloud based, which means that Melissa can access your information and history from all three practices!
Do I need a doctors referral to see a Physiotherapist?
What does a Physiotherapy assessment entail?
You will first undergo a subjective history where the physiotherapist chats to you about your current injury and medical history, as well as your day to day life to see how your condition is affecting all your activities. Once a full history is taken and the Physiotherapist has an idea about what needs to be assessed then a physical assessment will occur. The physical assessment involves a full biomechanical assessment of your posture and functional movements, followed by specific tests of the joints, nerves and muscles. This gives the therapist a good idea of what the injury entails and what needs to be treated in order to get you back to pain-free function as soon as possible. If you have any questions during your assessment pertaining to your condition feel free to ask your physiotherapist at any time during your session.
